Prague has so much to offer. And for sure it is not only the amazing and well-known historical city center with the Prague Castle or the Charles Bridge. Prague is also one of the most romantic cities in the world. A paradise for all the romantic souls. Along with Paris, of course. Just imagine, strolling through its endless ancient lanes or sitting by the Vltava river in the long summer night, lit just by dozens of the streetlamps, the moon and the stars. Beautiful, isn't it? Sure, best enjoyed in a good company, not to forget to mention. 😊

However, there are also many stunning and iconic parks and nature areas with beautiful trees, flowers, rose gardens and exquisite views of Prague from all the possible angles, all temptingly inviting for a walk and spending some nice time there. Imagine wide areas of lush green grass, beautiful blossoming trees on every step you take, vast fields of colorful tulips, beautiful rhododendrons and various other kinds of exquisite flowers boasting with every color you could ever imagine and smelling so heavenly good. Of course, providing you take the walk during the spring. 😊 And that exactly is the spirit of the Stromovka Park.

But don't worry, you can enjoy this park during all the seasons of the year. The summer picnics by the lakes are also very tempting, so are the walks through the park during the autumn, when the colored leaves in the trees prepare the most stunning sight. Stromovka has that kind of the London's Hyde Park vibe, of course in a much smaller scale, but similarly beautiful. And you can also spot friendly squirrels and cute little ducklings there.

I really like going to Stromovka during the spring to enjoy this wonderful atmosphere. The best time to go there to truly enjoy the flowers is early May and June as later the flowers might be out of bloom very soon. There are countless of winding paths to take. But my most favorite trail is from the Výstaviště tram station, along the Prague Planetarium (yes, you can also visit the Planetarium right there in the park), alongside the newly renovated Šlechtova Restaurant and then up the hill, towards the beautiful building of the Governor's Summer House.

It is exactly there, on that slope, where the most beautiful and exquisite flowers are. They decorate both sides of the paths and create an absolutely stunning background for instance for the photoshoots. Or simply enjoy the beauty of the flowers just like that. And when you are up on the hill, not only you can admire the stunning gothic building of the Governor's Summer House, the view that spreads from the top is gorgeous, overlooking the Stromovka park from above and on the horizon you can see also other parts of Prague, such as Troja.

You can then continue further with the walk outside of the Stromovka park and through the street called Pod Kaštany. The street is initially lined by beautiful chestnut trees (kaštan means the chestnut tree in Czech) and if you go there in May or June when they are blooming, the view is truly remarkable. Continue a bit further through this street and it is exactly this area where the diplomatic quarter of the Prague is located, with beautiful villas and residences of foreign embassies. The street then leads towards the Hradčanská metro and tram station. There are many local restaurants and cafés in this area so you can finish by a well-deserved refreshment after such a beautiful walk. Or, of course, you can take the walk the other way around and enjoy it from a different perspective. 😊

I hope you will be inspired to take this nice and romantic walk through the beautiful Stomovka park soon. And I will be really happy to introduce you to other nice places in Prague in one of my next posts. You can also find some inspiration in my previous post about the Prague Royal Route, and enjoy a walk through Prague with a truly magical atmosphere.
