Author's note:
I absolutely condemn all forms of violence and aggression. The occupation of Ukraine by Russia had struck me hard as a person who has always upheld the values of freedom, peace, and respect for human rights as the cornerstone of human existence. I am heartbroken to witness what is possible even in the 21st century. I wrote the poem below already last year, but it seems even more relevant right now. I believe, the peace, humanity, and respect between all nations in the world will finally prevail. Please, stop the war!
Wars, missiles,
guns & fires
Fighting against
the humankind
When men fight
against their peers
Destroying life of
someone dear
Dear to someone
else...
Ruthless riots
devastating lives,
Fighting against
the humankind
War, torture,
violence, hate,
This cannot be human fate
Simply cannot be...
We're all people,
we're all the same,
Yet still, maybe
for foolish fame,
Leaders breach
human rights,
Fighting against
the humankind,
Destroy nature,
conquer stars...
I might be just a
naïve soul
Fighting for the
humankind
By power of the peaceful
words
Breaking even the
sharpest swords
For people to live
in peace...
As peace,
tolerance, support, love
Are all fighting
for the humankind
For all nations to
live in peace
Appreciating their
differences
No matter what country
they are from...
I wish peace
to all the people in the world
For world to
be a better place...
